How to manage the room rack

The Room Rack is a detailed interface that allows you to view rooms in your property according to their housekeeping status. It also enables you to create new reservations and perform various operations like check-in, check-out, and folio transactions.

Accessing and Understanding the Interface

  • Access: You can access this page from PMS > Housekeeping > Room Rack.
  • View Settings: You can adjust the size of the tiles representing each room by clicking the Change view type button.
  • Legend: The Legend (Badge description) button indicates which color represents which room or reservation status.

Filtering Rooms

  • From the Parameters section on the right side of the interface, you can filter rooms based on various criteria:
    • Cleanliness Status: List rooms based on their status, such as Clean or Dirty.
    • Room Condition/State: Filter rooms by their state, such as Occupied, Vacant, Arriving, or Departing.
    • Room Types and Floors: Display only the rooms of a specific type or on a particular floor.
  • When you select a room status, the corresponding rooms will be highlighted in red on the view.

Performing Actions on Rooms

You can perform quick actions by clicking on the room tiles.

  • Left-Click Actions:
    • Vacant Room: Clicking on a vacant room opens the Quick Reservation page, allowing you to create a new reservation.
    • Occupied or Expected Room: Clicking on an occupied, arriving, or departing room takes you to that room’s reservation interface for detailed operations.
  • Right-Click Actions:
    • By right-clicking on a room, you can access a menu to:
      • Change the room’s status to Clean, Dirty, or Out of Order.
      • Add reservations, view room details, and perform front desk operations such as quick check-in.
