How to Create a Cancellation Policy

Adding a Cancellation Policy involves introducing the cancellation policies established at your property to the HotelRunner Channel Manager. These policies will later be added to rate plans, making them visible to guests on the Booking Engine.

Within the HotelRunner dashboard, cancellation policies can be created based on three main types: partially refundable, fully refundable, and non-refundable. These options help clearly reflect your property’s policies, improving guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

To Add a New Cancellation Policy:

  1. Navigate to My Property > Settings > Policies > Cancellation Policies.
  2. Click the New cancellation policy button.
  3. Enter the Name of the cancellation policy.
  4. Enter a Description for the cancellation policy. This description will be visible on the Booking Engine.
  5. In the Refundable type field, select whether the policy is partially refundable, fully refundable, or non-refundable. This selection may influence certain options in the following steps.
  6. In the Free cancellation ends after field, define the number of days before check-in when free cancellation expires.
  7. In the Time field, specify the hour until which cancellations can be made.
  8. In the Base amount field, determine the basis for the amount to be charged in case of cancellation.
  9. Use the Add tier button to add new conditions to the policy.
  10. Click Save to finalize the cancellation policy.

🔔 Note: During creation, you can select from the available languages in the HotelRunner dashboard and enter your information accordingly.
