In order to add a department when creating a new task in the <\/span>Tasks<\/b> menu, you need to add a department definition from <\/span>Department Definitions<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to Define a New Department?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow these steps to add a new department in the HotelRunner PMS Setup, in addition to the default departments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access the Department Definitions Screen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • Access the Department Definitions<\/strong> screen (usually under PMS > Setup).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Click the Add Definition<\/strong> button on the screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Enter Department Details and Save<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • In the Name<\/strong> section, specify a department name<\/strong> for the department you are creating.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • In the Type code<\/strong> section, select the parent department<\/strong> it belongs to (e.g., a specific outlet like ‘Bar’ might be under ‘Food & Beverage’).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Complete the department definition by clicking the Save<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

      • Default Departments:<\/strong> Front Cash, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Accounting, Guest Relations<\/strong>, and Other<\/strong> are the default departments available in the PMS Setup.<\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n

      • Task Management:<\/strong> When defining a new task through PMS > Front Desk > Tasks<\/strong>, the newly created departments will be available for selection in the Department<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n

        <\/p>\n

      • User Permissions:<\/strong> You can use the Front Desk, Cashiering, Housekeeping<\/strong>, and Guest Relations<\/strong> departments defined here to assign permissions when creating a new HotelRunner user.<\/li>\n
